Tags in video descriptions.

I've Got It
While browsing various youtube channels and videos I see that some people include a long list of tags relevant to their channel/current video. I just have to ask, is this a known way to allow search engines to find you easier/better? To me, they all look like an eyesore.

Note: I'm not talking about the tags in the tags portion when uploading a vid, just putting those tags plus some in the vid description.

Hmm... I noticed that Frankie does that, but it might be because her last ones are funny. I would hope it wouldn't have much effect to use them as tags and then repeat them in the description.

I'm personally not a fan of it, but it does help as long as it's relevant. I've seen so many people do tags in descriptions and it's just this long list that has absolutely nothing to do with the video -.-

I think this could be considered keyword spam and would be against TOS. Not completely sure though.

I used to not do it... didn't read the TOS hahaha (at above), and saw people with tens of thousands of subs using it. Since then, my average views/vid have raised about 50, and on some (my newest minecraft) they broke 301. If you search up "Minecraft Dwayne's Resurrection" It is the first one shown (popular youtubers haven't played it )

I put them on the far bottom of the description, and I don't really see why people would get annoyed with em. It isn't relevant to the video, and only people who click on the "Show more" and scroll ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM Will see it. It is proven to help me, at least. My first video I tried this with was also on the top of the list for it's title for the today and for this week spots too, which gave me reason to include it forever.

Ultimately tho, it's your decision. Imma check the TOS, but other than that, up to you.

I don't do it in the description because it doesn't look neat and clean. I just don't like a huge list on the bottom of the description lol.

Correct. Otherwise how else would you expect to be found?
It is very important to use all of the key words and phrases that relate to your video.

My new video has over 400 views in a week for some reason must be the subject the hate of it surprised me cause those bad drugs are well bad so why would they hate against not using them?

Generally it's okay, but it becomes against the ToS if they're not related to the video. I always add one or two extra in simply because the actual tags field gets full
