Tagging

FoldingNotes

Loving YTtalk
I have purged a ton of my videos, but my hyperlapse sketch series and the stop motion films remained untouched. It was a hard decision to make in order to differentiate well from other YouTubers.

My only main concern now is the tagging. I'm never good at tagging, and it's pretty crucial. Is there a good method to make up some tags?

Use tags based on what people searching in the Youtube search bar. It must be of course related to your content:)

You can use googles adwords they got the keyword planner if you're into it they show how much a certain tag is being searched and how competitive it is. I personally gave up on being too strategic with tagging. Might of been lucky like twice in all of my years being on youtube so now i just roll with it and tag my videos with what i think is right lol

I literally just wrote an article today on tagging and a free method to find better tags.....it's written on this forum in the SEO area along with a LOT of other guides on this very subject!

Here's our method of writing amazing and useful tags for your YouTube videos...

First start with as many one word specific tags as you find relevant.

Then add some compound and multiple-word tags.

After that, add a few generic tags such as vlog, tutorial, how-to, etc.

Then add in a few misspelled words tags on purpose, because many people actually search for the misspelled words!

Hope this helps!

Sometimes I type in the search like the game that I am playing in the video I want to upload and I see what automatically pops up when i do that. i tag that at least. I also like to tag the gaming company that made the game. I also tag what style of game it is, for example strategy, RPG, Episodic. I also tag my Youtube channel name as well.

Yeah, I've had trouble with tagging, myself. I guess one of my concerns is that I don't want my video to appear when people are looking for something completely different (i.e. finding a cover song of Depeche Mode when they were looking for a Let's Play). While that example is a bit extreme, it still proves my point about SEO.

Still, I will look into TubeBuddy.
