Swearing?

I don't mind people swearing in videos, as long as it's appropriate to your target audience I don't see a problem with it. It can also emphasise how funny something is :D

I don't think you should completely sensor yourself. I hate when people say "shut the front door" rather than just saying "SHUT THE f**k UP". Makes the whole thing look like some politically correct soap on TV.

That being said, I can't take anyone seriously if he has to swear every two seconds. That makes you look really childish IMO. You don't have to swear every other word in order to be funny (I hope).

So I would say that swearing is better than using politically correct alternatives, but do try not to do it too much. That is if you're not targetting a young audience, of course.
 
I think swearing is fine as long as it's not a crutch. Some people swear because they're really not funny otherwise but if it kind of just naturally happens when you're doing your thing then I don't see a problem.
 
Just like you said it seems funnier when you swear in the video. I personally have nothing against it in fact i feel uncomfortable from someones lack of swearing when i'm in person cuz i tend to swear and yeah lol. JUST DO IT! :D I don't like when some people overdo it though when you can tell its not natural.
 
In my non-YouTube life, I work with teenagers. Trust me: they have heard it all and said it all. I happen to not swear much--except when I am working with my students, of course!--but I won't censor myself in a video if I have a reason to swear.
 
I drop the F bomb every so often. I would swear more but I feel it could put people right off..

I haven't come across many youtubers in my time who don't swear here and there...

I guess as long as you have the right audience its f*****g fine
 
First of all, as a fair warning, don't try to retaliate to BatteryChicken's sarcasm with sarcasm. Many have tried, few have succeeded xD

But I guess swearing is okay as long as you're catering to a mature audience. At that point it's up to the viewer themselves to decide whether they should watch your videos, regardless of profanity. Even though in most situations it's not helpful at all. Especially is gaming where the viewers are more likely to be kids.
 
I swear once in a while in my videos, but I personally don't see a problem with it. If you don't like foul language, go watch another video. Censoring yourself just ruins the whole point of Youtube.
 
I swear in my videos. I also think it makes it funny and kind of breaks some tension. I also swear a lot irl so i wouldn't want to edit my self so much. aha
