Loving YTtalk
Hey guys what's up. I've just recently started watching my own videos and notice I do quite a bit of swearing and I'm wondering what are your thoughts on how swearing affects content. Is it bad for the video or does it not really affect anything at all? Swearing is just an everyday thing in my vocabulary mostly due to my job(I wasn't this bad before joining). I really want to know if I should try and calm it down by thinking before I talk or just leave it natural tons of swears and all? Really looking forward to what you guys think being that everyone thinks differently.

I don't like swearing in videos, but if it's not frequent then I'll continue watching. I don't swear in real life because I just see no use for the words when you can say stuff like darn or shoot instead. I don't condemn others for swearing, but it's just not my preference.

That's a solid point I do catch myself attempting to replace words like the F-Bomb with Fudge and stuff but it just comes out naturally. I am going to try and calm it down tho. Thanks for you input bro.

Eh... I'd say it's best to tone it down as much as possible if you want to reach a bigger audience.

Swearing doesn't bother me at all though.

Thanks a ton I really appreciate it!
No problem! I really like your avatar :)
Personally, I am not fond of too much swearing in videos. Especially when they are targeted towards a younger audience. I don't think people realize how big an influence videos have on children these days (I have 3 myself...) I am personally a fan of the beeping out. I think that can be really funny in certain situations. That's just my take on it.

I've never thought of the beeping out  that may be something I try in the future to see how it goes. Thanks again for the idea and your input.[DOUBLEPOST=1405043210,1405043073][/DOUBLEPOST]
It depeneds.
If they are yelling racist slurs (Gay, ***, ***** etc.) I emidiatly leave the channel.

Yea I'm not a fan of the racist, sexist, or homophobic slurs either. I can defiantly see why people would instantly leave a channel. In all honesty I don't think that kind of language should be allowed. Then again people are allowed to say what they want lol.

Generally speaking, I think you should air on the side of "as low swearing as you can while still being authentic". If you're constantly pausing mid-sentence going "Hah, that's fuuuuu-uh-fudging cool?" then it would be better to just swear. If you're super worried about it, that's what beeping is for (just don't pick a really annoying sound.)

Though I'm trying to decide this for myself... also, in videos that I've shot with my friends, there's definitely an rated R level of swearing. So, might be best to just beep it out. You can always ask your viewers what they think as well.
