Yup subtitles help the audience to catch our accent, everyone has different english accent, so obviously subtitles help it!
I do subtitle some of my videos
Welcome to the forum! I see your videos are in German so you'd like to add subtitles in English? To be honest I don't think that would attract a lot of English viewers. They can choose from millions of other videos where they don't have to read subtitles to understand what you're saying.
But who knows, there may be some people who are trying to learn German and this would help them. But then again, maybe German subtitles would be the best choice. If you say the keywords often enough, that might help with ranking too.
Hey there, German buddy! It probably only makes sense, if a video of your's is about something that's popular around the world and there aren't many other videos about it yet. Otherwise people could just watch an english video about that topic, like Sabrina said.
this is my opinion, i feel that people who speak other languages on you tube and have subtitles in English i am more likely to watch their videos and subscribe to them (if they are of my interest obviously) than someone who doesn't have subs in English because i won't be able to understand them.
as you tube has a lot of English speakers, it is very useful for you to have subtitles on your videos because you will get more viewers than limiting your view to only Germans.
I am subscribed to several channels that use languages that i don't speak but that i am still able to watch because of subtitles. Another benefit of subtitles is that the youtube search engine really likes them.
