ANYWAYS! the other half is like hour away from me at some factory so kinda p****d with Australia post because of that n wont get lights till Monday! was looking forward to using them today.

OK MY QUESTION!
dam i talk to much... or type to much :p

having studio lights... will it make the room hot? cos hell no am i going to make it rain with sweat. and if sooo what do you guys use to keep you cool down?

my family are tight with electricity bills so cant use aircon... so what do you guys use to keep you cool?

My room is at least ten degrees hotter than the rest of the house because of my lights and pc. I doesn't really bother me too much except in the summer. I just deal with it.

It matters what lights you're using :) Soft top boxes don't normally create a tonne of heat.. and then it all depends on how long you're keeping them on for. But yes, lights product heat. Best thing you can do it make sure the room has some nice air flow. Maybe open a window, put a fan in front and aim the fan at the lights.

Most tungsten studio lights are extremely hot - I have a pair of 1,000 watts, and you can feel the heat radiating off of them from a few feet away. Usually I keep them off until right when I start shooting to prevent the room from getting too hot, and then immediately turn them off again after we finish. I have recently started using more florescent and LED lights for my setup. They're a bit more expensive, but they're also much cooler, and use a lot less power.
