Stuck in a Subscriber Rut

Opinionated Vlogger and Gamer
Now, I know I haven't been posting weekly vlogs like I used to, but this issue has been going on since months before I stopped posting weekly. I basically hit about 1220 subs (give or take) and have not really gone much beyond that. I'll go up to about 1230, then I'll drop back down to 1215 and just keep bouncing around between those numbers.

People are still viewing my videos - in fact, where I used to average about 50 views per video, I'm closer to 75-100 now. My overall revenue keeps creeping up too, but the sub count seems stuck.

Now I know, sub count isn't everything, but I find it a very interesting phenomenon, especially since my tutorial channel keeps increasing subs despite the fact I haven't posted anything there for months now (I just haven't had the time, and keep running into too many technical difficulties in capturing my screens at a clear high resolution while creating the tutorials ... that may now be solved, but I haven't had time to test that).

Anyway, just interesting how behavior can be so radically different on different kinds of channels.

The people who are not interested in your content are unsubscribing and the people who ar actually interested in your content are subscribing, so that's good in the long run, and that is what leading to more views per video.

Yeah except the majority of my views come from non-subscribers. They find me through YouTube search.

My growth has been extremely slow this week compared to previous weeks, it gets rough seeing the numbers go up only to go back down again! Especially considering I put up my best 3 (2 of which required 5+ hours to edit) videos to date and feel that if only those vids could get more recognition! Also, I had got like 300+ views on 3 or 4 videos in a row a week or two ago & now I'm back down in the hundreds (which is still great considering my sub base so I'm not going to complain as things have been going really well for me since I started 2 months ago!) Though I do feel like this has been my slowest week yet and it is really off putting when you see you've lost some subs! I hope you can continue to grow and get out of this rut you've been stuck in :)

I hit 1,100 subscribers exactly 1 year ago, and 600 subs 2 years ago. I've not grown much past 1,200 in this past year. This has been a very, very long rut.

Sorry to hear that! I'm finding that YouTube takes a lot of patience really so I can only imagine how you must be feeling! Like I said I hope you can get out of it asap & continue to progress :)

You will have phases like this man, it's the initial 20k subscribers I think that it really struggles to increase, once you're away you're away though! even with 4200 subscribers it takes me a long long while to grow!
