Struggling...

Hello! I have been doing YT for awhile now and am having trouble getting anywhere. I promote through all the proper ways, social media, forums, have good channel art and a lot of people really like the videos that I make. I do know that im not always consistent due to work and other things. Any advice?

How long is "a while"? It looks like you have over 500 subscribers, which is great! I see you have picked up posting again after a couple weeks off, so perhaps consistency is an issue right now?

Perhaps try changing up your thumbnails/descriptions or try some new approaches to your material. It's all a game of refinement and getting better and growing, and I think concentrating on that may help.

Maybe try doing a wider variety of content? A little nudge in the right direction could pull in more viewers/subscribers. I know you love gaming news, but maybe a Let's Play, skit, short film, or content review could be what people are looking for. Variety is the spice of life as they say. Chin up! You're doing a great job :)

You're making quality videos. :)

However, news is a competitve niche - you're competing against all the major gaming outlets that already have mass audiences.

Also, if you're doing news and are not posting regularly, it's likely that people will turn to other news sources instead.

Additionally, news are only relevant for a couple of days which makes your videos less and less valuable the more time passes (even if the quality is great!).

I don't suggest you give up news but maybe you can add something that isn't so news-based? Top 5 lists, tips & tricks, easter eggs, "10 things you didn't know about Bethesda", "10 people who sued gaming companies for ruining their lives". You can also take a look at other successful channels in your niche and see what works for them.

I think you really have the potential to become big if you experiment with different content and find your niche.

IMO I don't go to YouTube for regular news updates. I just google "Xbox" and click news for example. Your videos and thumbnails are solid. You clearly know what you are doing. when I reevaluated my channel after just 4 months I took my 5 most viewed videos and dissected them. What I found was that they were each from a different game. Ex, Halo, Hearthstone, iPhone FPS, iPhone RTS, (mostly mobile games). I changed the direction of my channel and boom. I doubled my growth last month, and am on track to continue this month.

I've seen you in the Google+ forums before as well and I watch a few of your videos. They're short and to the point which is good. But one things you might want to try is showcasing some of the games you talk about. Perhaps if you get the Beta version of a game when it comes out, you can show some pros and cons of what you experienced. But otherwise I think you're doing good.
