steadicam, whats the cheepest way?

I am looking for the cheapest way to make a steadicam rig, whether its home made or store bought or if its only half affective I'd like to know if you have any tips or tricks that might work.

There are a lot of sites that show how to make good ones for under 100 bucks.. just watch the videos that show the results.

The cheapest way is to hold the camera and walk like a samurai.

You should attach a camera to a chicken. (Google chicken steadicam).

But seriously I've been working in video for many years and have never found a cheap, reliable, steady, steadicam. I've learnt to 'buffer' the camera with smooth movements of legs arms and fingers. It's the way to go.
