Spanking your kids?

You know what that does teach them ?

How to lie to you. How to avoid getting caught. How to be afraid of you.
Terrible, terrible.
 
My dad will hit me if I'm naughty, and has done to all my over brothers and they are now in uni and doing well in life so as long as its not abuse and just a smack once in a while its ok I suppose :)[DOUBLEPOST=1369852539,1369852489][/DOUBLEPOST]

I would get thrown around a lot aswell. It was just how it was when i was a kid. Personally no i wouldnt hit my kids if i ever have any i would just promote bad behavior because its fun :)

I was spanked as a child and I am no worse for wear for it. In fact I deserved every single one and I never did that behavior again afterwards so I know for me it was effective. I personally see no problems with a sound spanking when a child is misbehaving and I see too many bratty children these days who could use a good dose of discipline.

That being said, I am childfree by choice, so no one here has to worry about me ever spanking my own children, since I will never have any.

I've had 3 children psychology classes at University with really respected teachers.
And they had the same opinion that I expose to you.

You've been warned. Then...you do whatever you want with your kids.

But dont touch mine ;)

I am going to train my kids in the art of being mischievous so when there around me they respect me SO much that they just listen to my advice and don't cause me any problems :D i have also had jobs where i worked with kids and seriously just treating them like and adult and talking to them on a level is seriously the best way around it, Be it if there 4 or 14. Plus when you act like a kid and mess around a lot kids just generally like you and wont want to disappoint you or annoy you

I never became afraid of my grandmother, who was the one who spanked me when I misbehaved. I loved her dearly and miss her severely to this day. Yes she spanked me, but I deserved every single one and I never repeated the bad behavior again.
