Hey,

I have a sounclip (which sounds fine by itself) that I want to import into FCP 7, but when it's playing in FCP 7 it crackles all the time.

Anyone have any possible solutions?

Thanks alot!

When you import, there are various options for both video and audio. It may be the case that it is attempting to alter the audio which is causing it to have problems

try this:
1. open the audio file in quicktime player / audacity / mpegstreamclip
2. export to an aiff...
3. import the aiff into fcp7...
hopefully you should be OK now...

Sorry for the late reply... exams and all...

I'm going to try that now.

Should I do that with both audio files?

er... i thought you only had one audio file... but yes, if you have two you can try the method above for both... Save As / Export will create a new copy anyway of each of the files...

THAT... worked like a charm... why is that???

Thank you so much for your help I was completely stuck!

**here's the video in case you were interested, but it's ok if you aren't**

Thanks again for your help!

hey glad it worked out for you... i think fcp7 doesn't handle mp3 files too well - esp. for longer durations on the timeline... i've always had a problem with them... will watch your 9 minute video when i have 9 minutes to spare! :)
