Sound effect for a pause/hold?

What's a good sound effect to use for a pause/hold in video? I have situations where I hold the frame to add some text etc... but I use a "ding" kind of sound, I feel like it might be a tad bit odd, but what else could I use instead?

You mean for an intermission? I'd go for a classic elevator music like:

Otherwise a generic ding or some 8-bit sound effect (when you grab a coin in Super Mario Bros?) should work fine

I normally only use the record scratch effect if I want to stop music abruptly but emphasise something right afterwards.
