Something that really irks me

Yep that's the big thing, the people who just want things and out and to be done with can't really seem to have it off easy, people always want to keep it going. I've noticed that a lot of times, it's like yes it's great you want to be supportive but also now you know what's going on let's move on and be happy.
on the bright side you'd rather want it that way than hateful videos made about you by people who are against LGBT

Connor Franta doesn't need to come out just to get views, he already gets lots of views. So I don't think he's doing this for the views.

Sounds about right. Same thing as the passing of Robin Williams. Any trending topic folks can latch onto regardless of whether or not it's in poor taste... plenty will do it anyway.

Somewhere along this line this got ENTIRELY misinterpreted. I never said Connor Franta was using Coming Out to get views. I was saying that people making videos essentially taking advantage of something that took a lot of courage to hop on a trendy topic and get some views is what kind of irks me.

BEFORE I GO INTO THIS POST, LET ME JUST SAY THAT IM NOT BASHING ANYONE FOR DOING THIS AND IM WELL AWARE THAT YOUTUBE IN ITS NATURE IS ABOUT GETTING ATTENTION. KK NOW YOU CAN READ

So, Connor Franta came out today. That's seriously so amazing and it must've taken a lot of courage and I'm sure that he's very happy with all the support he's been getting.

However, with that being said, I don't find it cute when people essentially use something that was probably incredibly stressful and trying on the guy to get attention to their own channel or grab some views. I've already seen about 10 or 15 videos all saying the generic same thing supporting Connor for coming out (which essentially is GREAT like seriously that's awesome) but I like to think that I'm very good at reading people and a lot of them seem ingenuine which I find really disturbing that you would take something that to the person is such a big deal and belittle it by trying to get views out of it.

END OF RANT
I tottally get why this pisses you off, but what i have learned so far on YouTube is to don't give a damn about youtubers i don't like, and focus on supporting those i want to succeed. There will allways be people only trying to surf the waves of the trends on youtube, and it's not much to do about it. Personally im trying to make original, independent content and "start a trend" instead of taking advantage of others peoples attention. So, yeah, i apreciate your point my friend.

I agree with you James. Connor is one of my YouTube heroes (was before and even more now), and I would love to make a reaction video, but really...I have nothing unique to say. I have seen a couple people come out in videos after Connor did, which is cool, but just being like "yeah, Connor is brave and I support him" doesn't really add value to YouTube.

That's kinda why I don't make videos about other peoples' personal tragedies or loss of some celebrity. While I do feel bad for Harold Ramis and Robin Williams and their loved ones.... I just don't want to come off as being fake and doing it for the views or shock value.

My bad, I read too fast and misunderstood. I apologize for coming to the wrong conclusion. Forgive?
