Somebody copied my thumbnail design :(

It took me a lot of time to design this thumbnail, which is really unique about my channel :/ Somebody subbed to me the other day, so I checked them out and they have started to use the exact same thumbnails as me. I'm pretty sure there is nothing I can do about this, but yeah It kind of sucks...
 
Unfortunately there is indeed not much you can do to protect the theme of a thumbnail. I feel your pain as developing a consistent brand can be essential for a channel.

I would be proud if I inspired them to think of their own idea, not copy my exact one. I don't think there was anybody on youtube ( from what I have seen anyway) who had that thumbnail design... quite annoyed atm :/[DOUBLEPOST=1454427699,1454427439][/DOUBLEPOST]

Its really annoying yeah. I tried to contact the guy and commented on his vid saying ' I understand this is ur channel and its up to you what you do, but Its clear copied your thumbnail design from me mate. There is nothing I can do about it, but Im asking u nicely to please use another design :)'.

Is it the exact same file that he has taken? I mean, has he downloaded your thumb and uploaded it to his channel?

If so, you can in fact you can flag the video for copyright infringement. Fill in the online form, choose "artwork", fill in the details and then choose "custom thumbnail"
 
Just hope that it's a phase and that the user gets bored and moves on to another design. I wouldn't worry about it too much especially if they don't get as much attention as your channel.

I'm not sure if he has dowloaded any files or anything, but as u can see its the exact replica
(edited) How do I post images?
 
I know how bad it feels to see someone copying your content or ideas. Just take the good part of it and know that you have great content and thumbnails! Keep it up!
