Softbox Problems! & what do you use?

So I recently bought a softbox and I'm very happy with it
But it does seem very dull and the light seems yellowish

For me personally I like the light to be strong and bright white
I'm wondering how to get this?

I'm guessing its the bulb
But I've tried many bulbs in it all seem near the same
Its a screw in socket so the highest watt I could find was 60W
Put for a push in socket I found 100w

It's also bought from abroad so it has a foreign plug but I fixed that with an adapter
Could the foreign plug be the problem?

Also what lighting do you use?
 
Fluorescent lights are white, if you use tungsten or incandescent you can just set the white balance :)

That should be a good replacement if his softbox allows to change out the bulbs.

So yes, that bulb should fit as it's a screw socket and the bulb has a screw fitting.

To be honest, if the softbox didn't allow you to change the bulb it would be the worst softbox in history!

Only cheap softboxes have normal lightbulb sockets. Yes you can buy new lights for all softboxes but not all of them are cheap household lights. Hints me asking.
Most high end softboxes have custom lighting built into it so you can have more control over the light.

We used to work with continuous soft boxes similar to these pretty regularly.

Him saying screw in socket means nothing to me considering all the different types of softbox sockets out there.
So yes that bulb should fit if it's a normal screw socket and the bulb has a normal screw fitting
