So, you want to be a YTtalker?

I Love YTtalk
Being around some time, I have noticed some patterns. Here are my thought:
NOTICE that this text is my own impression and opinions.
Not reflecting official YTtalk rules or other members opinions.

  1. It is not bad to be here for self promotion. But this, as in Youtube will not come overnight. People ignore strangers that beg or just throw a "check me, I am awesome!" post. Dude, we are all awesome, we all want to be checked and got discovered. Chill down and be a part of the discussion. You can't be a Youtuber and having nothing to say, either asking, either helping others. Liking others is also mandatory. Don't just count your hits.
  2. There are no silly questions or thoughts. There are only rude people that might answer. Ignore those answers and get the beneficial ones. Hiding or not behind a nickname can help asking whatever. There are not silly question, there are no questions making you a bad guy or whatever. You true world beliefs or queries, will be reflected eventually, so don't struggle posting or not. Just do it.
  3. Being around is rewarded, earn some exposure. My signature link is payed by YTtalk dollars earned while posting. almost 500 more virtual dollars available. Cool? Quite easy. Sometimes helping, sometimes joking, being around, sometimes making fun or chit chatting, even sometimes while disagreeing with others. Speaking of YTtalk money:
  4. Don't copy paste posts, you are a Creator, remember!? It is so freeking boring to read copy paste welcome messages. Screw YTtalk easy dollars. You can just like the newbie's post and then really check the channel. Comment on the channel, not on the post or if he/she is a pasta lover! Talk Youtube! (duh!)
  5. You start broken! Fix it! If you want people to check you out, please repair this link before anything else! http://yttalk.com/threads/how-to-add-your-youtube-channel-to-every-message-post.32/
  6. Unlike Youtube you don't have to have consistency. Visit when you can, but don't be a stranger. I have met quite many people here, kind of got used of them but eventually they are gone. Do I really care? Yes and No. Yes, I miss some of them, No, it is in my nature to tend to forget. So I don't check them any more as I was not subscribed and just followed their signatures.
  7. Not your niche talked? No problem, probs & solutions are common. Do you think that there are many Gamers in the house at the time? Well I do. And I don't know sh*t on Gaming. But this is not a problem, last years it was vlogging, next year might be cooking, who cares? Take whatever useful they have to offer, they are creators on the same platform as you.
  8. Encourage others. It may be nerve breaking to do all this hard work and to see others achieving milestones, getting monetized before you, and wonder why you are stuck. For a start, like their posts, say a good word and then study them! Being positive, reflects to your self! Also, do your homework! They didn't succeed by just being lucky.
  9. Report sub4sub or inappropiate content. I do it whenever I read those posts and I am not ashamed to admit it. It keeps the place clean and does not waste everyone's time to read garbage.
  10. Make an awesome top 10! Nothing else, I just wouldn't like to make a top 9er! hehehe!
Feel free to add your experiences if you wish :)

aha.. learned a new trick! highlight the text you wanna quote and it offers a link to do so. Anyway I agree with one. This is one part of ytt abuse that goes unchallenged. Always seeing the same thoughtless spam post about "how old are you.. and what got you into.." which is clearly just to gain the appropriate no. of characters to gain some ytt cash. You should have a genuine interest and comments unique to the OP if putting a reply. Otherwise ytt could just a get a bot to welcome newbies.

*applaudes* Thank you for this great post! I agree with everything!
Sadly people will still continue to think that the could just promote here and leave!
But it was a nice read nonetheless! Thank you! I do wonder what the mods think of this?

Yup! Thank you for this post. :) I do have a few little comments tho, from a mod perspective. ^^

It is not bad to be here for self promotion.
But only promote in the Videos and Channels forum! :o We allow members to have their channel in their signature, but that's it for the rest of the forum. The majority of YTtalkers aren't your channel's target audience, so it's much much better to learn about how to grow an audience using YouTube's algorithm. Let YouTube find your audience for you. We primarily want to talk about YouTube at YTtalk. ^^

There are no silly questions or thoughts.
Questions are definitely welcome, but there are pointless questions and thoughts (i.e. "How I chocolate?" -- If chocolate isn't trending somewhere on YouTube, then I'm going to delete that thread lol). But other than stuff like that, questions are welcomed as long as they aren't questions we have entire sub-forum dedicated to (the most common being, "How do I grow on YouTube?" We lock common questions like that since we have many articles discussing the topic here: http://yttalk.com/forums/youtube-tutorials-articles-resources.10/)

Don't copy paste posts, you are a Creator, remember!?
omg. I hate when this happens! T_T If you see this happening, please report it because I'm supposed to delete it and/or send a warning. :o It's against the rules to copy/paste threads and replies here. ^^

You start broken! Fix it!
:up2: Yeah, the most common channel link problem... :o

Report sub4sub or inappropiate content.
YES! x_x No sub4sub on YTtalk! Having lots of inactive subscribers will hurt your channel. :o
