So MANY NETWORKS

This thread is quite pointless.

Maybe because you can't understand the basics of networking...... I truly believe this is an issue. Just trying to make a point to be aware of. Maybe this is already obvious but people just need to remember this when choosing sub networks under them.

@Baseline Yes I completely agree with you.
If you think of networks as a tree over 100 of them are 13 year old kid wannabe's trying to make a network at the very bottom of the trunk. These 100 or so people shouldn't even really account towards the amount of networks you see everyday now. Most of the networks that you come across aren't competition to the big MCNs and big VNs they are just random people. Thats my opinion. Yes their are SOOOOOO many networks, but the amount of those networks worth looking into is 1/4 of that amount.

I agree, just be aware that your sub networks effect your network as well. PLEASE keep that in mind. I feel like this is a good reminder that people could use.

To be honest I dont 100% agree with you but that is your choice to believe that.

The OP does have a point, there are so many networks under networks that its quite confusing for people choosing a network wondering why there's wording in their contracts about the parent network, who is actually paying them etc, having say 10 subnetworks and then a plethora of CA's under each of them makes for a lot of confusion.

I do think one of the main issues is the people who are allowed to create them especially the CA's, a lot of them dont care about spamming via YouTube and are willing to do or say almost anything to profit including bending the truth and I dont believe in that personally, many of them are immature too and dont have much life, business or work experience. It could be seen as a good thing that things are like this though, a network who doesn't do all of this and does things differently could easily profit from all of this by taking on really knowledgeable, mature people who have decent values when it comes to signing new partners, I know I would trust someone I know is like that.

I dont believe the "take on almost anyone's" will win the race here, the trust issues, poor customer service/support etc that come with it all will always let them down unless they get their acts together.

Just my opinion on the situation, im not stating any of this about any specific networks and this is largely based on my observations of posts at YTtalk.

Have things changed since I last was active around here? I mean the last time I was discussing this matter I couldn't figure out what networks were even for anymore. We have thumbnails now, we have banners, you make more through adsense, click bombing is rare as far as I know, they don't promote you, What are they even for?

That isn't entirely true. Being in a YT network does (depending on the Network) offer you more CPM in most cases. Being in a network also means you most likely gain access to a huge library of Royalty Free Money with no cost, Graphic design teams, Live Streaming** and Content-ID protection. These are just some things (Not all are offered from the one network).

I'm just saying, there are a lot of CAs that are under a VN with CN that are very immature that I know. So I'm glad to hear that stat but I know for sure there is still work to be done.
We are a CA under EMN (one of CN's VN's), we can tell you that we are quite the opposite of immature.

I believe in having an open marketplace. However, it seems like there are people in it for the money and not providing real value to content creators.

Since this thread will be read by many recruiters, VA's, sub-networks, whatever, don't waste your time contacting me trying to get me to join your network.

a plethora of CA's under each of them

Personally, I find the CA thing odd. I don't really engage in it with my VN, because largely I feel it is misleading but also I just haven't had the time to work with anyone on it. All a Content Aggregator is, is a person with a referral ID who gets credit for the recruit.

A lot of CA's market themselves as though they are a network, and they're not.

VN's on the other hand enter in to a legal contract with the MCN for such items as operating a hub channel, handling support and so on. These items are what really make the operation a business of sorts which you can succeed or fail at as with any other. A CA doesn't have these things, rather they are an illusion created by the CA operator who is under no such legal contract and could be terminated at any time for any reason[DOUBLEPOST=1397504085,1397503936][/DOUBLEPOST]

LOL, but you'd give me so many views per month markkaz. What if I offered you amazing CPM somewhere between $1 and $500 with an incredible 50/50 revenue share and i'll even give you some websites where you can download creative commons music for free.
