So I left my real world job today and I kind of did it for YouTube...

I always enjoy reading your posts @TheDutchTexan. You never hold back from speaking your mind :0)

It is how I live life. I am also a realist. Fake it till you make it is not something I could ever live by. I try to be respectful, although at times people take it personal. I can guarantee you it doesn't matter who asks that same question, I will give them the same (or a similar) answer.

I did quit my day job, but only when my channel was making many times my salary. I had too many commitments to just quit before that.

I personally would have recommended going from full-time to part-time job first and then quitting if you saw results.

Hope it works out the way you're wanting. Best of luck.

You have almost the exact same size following as I do! I'm still about 15 years away from taking it to a ft job by my estimation

Realists tend to be the most intelligent :) hopefully in the minor percentages maybe one day I can prove you wrong friend. I think when you tell someone the realistic side of things and the actual chance of the perceived project succeeding, sometimes that pushes someone just a little further so thanks for the un-intentional help ;)

What is your plan for growth? How are you going to grow your channel so that it can support you? Do you have any super-fans who are willing to chip in on Patreon or some other direct-pay system, or are your needs so low that less than a hundred dollars per month is worthwhile?

It's fine to pursue your dreams, but it seems like there isn't a plan so much here as just wanting to take some time off of work. Which again, that's fine, but it's an odd thing to say you're pursuing something full-time unless you have a well thought-out plan to make money off of it.
As I stated in the post, I am in college and live at home under the loving guidance of my family, I have a lot of money saved up and summer holidays are about to start so I am using this time to make YouTube full-time :) I am at no loss for trying it out as I don't have many bills to pay even so my money situation is very much ok.

As I also stated, I have the supporting guidance of a professional so really I am at no loss for trying it out :) I just want to experiment and see how it goes also I am doing it because I love editing videos not really arsed about the money right now :P[DOUBLEPOST=1493650088,1493649392][/DOUBLEPOST]

I do not have any commitments I am living at home in college and summer is about to start so I thought it was no better a time to take it serious :) but I absolutely agree with you on what your saying! As someone paying a mortgage and bills, you wouldn't just be able to step away from a job![DOUBLEPOST=1493650158][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thank you!Well with summer about to start and the fact that I live with family and yeah have a good chunk of savings I am just lucky with my situation :P so I am going to take the summer holidays to its advantage but thanks for the positive words :)[DOUBLEPOST=1493650252][/DOUBLEPOST]

Well it really just takes hardcore dedication and a bit of luck :P but I am fortunate enough to have the time on my hands now. I would say though you will make it there one day ;P

I have been a content creator on and off for about 3 years now. And I will honestly say I love it to bits. I have had a rough couple of years with stuff but recently am back on track. I am not poor but I am not rich. But I will live easily thanks to the support of savings and my family. So I got myself an agent to manage over me for YouTube. So to do that I have set myself up a test. And that is to take YouTube full-time for the next 2 - 6 months.

So I am not being vein but I am aware that over the 3 years I have learned how to make decent looking content so I am going to take it to the the extreme from next week on. 9-5 Monday to Friday I will be working on projects under the support of my team. I am not a living example of a man who has quit his job for YouTube. This is a test that I wanted to setup an do for months now but it is finally happening and I am actually pretty nervous ha ha.

But anyway if any of you are ever wondering should you, I recommend not doing so unless you can sustain yourself at ease and I really do mean it when I say I can, but you might not be able to. But I will let you know how it goes over the next few months XD if it works out then I will be living proof that quality, consistency and a chirpful attitude can actually work out on YouTube.

Have any of you left your job for YouTube? I would be interested to know :)

Brave dude! I'm not quite in that position myself yet, but I hope that one day I will be. All the best of luck to you!
