So I left my real world job today and I kind of did it for YouTube...

I have been a content creator on and off for about 3 years now. And I will honestly say I love it to bits. I have had a rough couple of years with stuff but recently am back on track. I am not poor but I am not rich. But I will live easily thanks to the support of savings and my family. So I got myself an agent to manage over me for YouTube. So to do that I have set myself up a test. And that is to take YouTube full-time for the next 2 - 6 months.

So I am not being vein but I am aware that over the 3 years I have learned how to make decent looking content so I am going to take it to the the extreme from next week on. 9-5 Monday to Friday I will be working on projects under the support of my team. I am not a living example of a man who has quit his job for YouTube. This is a test that I wanted to setup an do for months now but it is finally happening and I am actually pretty nervous ha ha.

But anyway if any of you are ever wondering should you, I recommend not doing so unless you can sustain yourself at ease and I really do mean it when I say I can, but you might not be able to. But I will let you know how it goes over the next few months XD if it works out then I will be living proof that quality, consistency and a chirpful attitude can actually work out on YouTube.

Have any of you left your job for YouTube? I would be interested to know :)

I wish I could, but I know I would starve. Plus, Youtube might feel kinda annoying if it feels like a job that you HAVE to do if you want to eat.

Based on your track record and recent video view count you just made the biggest mistake in your life. While everyone serious about their channel entertains the thought I personally would not give up my day job for it unless it starts to equal what I make at my day job. And if it were to make equal money with the effort I am putting in now... why not keep the day job and have to income streams? It just does not make any sense to jump off the deep end at the level that you are at.

I guess you might have chosen the wrong time to do it, since the revenue has gone down significantly these past few months!
But that shouldn´t stop me to say good luck, and hopefully it will work out for you! Let us know how it will work out for you!

Judging with what has happened recently, with the Ad Revenue Boycott or whatever, now isn't really the best time to quit your day job for Youtube. With how small your channel is, I highly doubt you'll be getting enough revenue to survive normally.

I always enjoy reading your posts @TheDutchTexan. You never hold back from speaking your mind :0)

It will be an interesting experiment to follow, working 9-5 exclusively on your YT channel and with a team of helpers too. I'm guessing your manager and team are working for free?

Good luck with it, and keep us posted...even if the results are not what you are hoping for!

woah that was a bit of a leap of faith, only having a few months to get hundreds of thousands more eyes on your stuff os going to take something major like a few viral hits, or pewdiepie collab

Wow, that's a big step bearing in mind you've hardly been uploading recently and your channel is only getting 200 views per day at the moment (according to your SocialBlade stats) I sincerely hope you do have a lot savings and other income because you're really going to need it.

Good luck. :)
