Should I add annotations to my older videos?

I just learned about annotations and what they are. I already have 175 videos on my youtube channel , but some of them are a month old. Should I add annotations to my older videos? What if I just put an annotation in every single video I ever made? Would that be helpful at this point? Maybe I should just do the newer ones? What do you think?
 
You should ALWAYS have annotations in your videos. Its sad to say but you should go back to your old ones and apply them to the videos. I've had to go back to over 4,000 videos and reapply them.
 
You know....i've never even thought about annotations on my video! Thanks for bringing this up and encouraging me to go add them!
 
Yeah probably should find a way to do that since the old videos are what are getting watched the most.
 
Do
Use annotations to link to previous videos you made.
Use annotations to clarify facts and things you say in the video.
Use annotations to make a subscribe button at the end of your video. (if you don't know how to do this look it up)

Don't
Spam the video with annotations
Have more then two annotations on the screen at the same time
Forget to check the spelling in annotations and make sure the link works correctly.

+1 She is right about this actually. The only thing I add is that I always put "Smack that like button it only takes 0.4 seconds" and it plays for 30 seconds on each video at the top (non obtrusively) just because "VideoGames" channel does it and gets a lot of likes and subs.
 
Since you have alot of videos maybe dont annotate all of them, but just your most popular ones so more people see them and subscribe! :)

Yeah I agree it would take a lot time to annotate all your videos, just do your most popular and your newest ones. If you really want to annotate all of them, maybe just do ten a day and then after three weeks all your videos will annotated, but that would be a lot of work.
 
I'm all for annotations too. We didn't start using them until about halfway through this first year on YouTube. I keep toying with the idea of annotating older videos, and keep putting it off. But I think I'll definitely get on that. It can't hurt to help folks find your other awesome content! :)
