Should Google create an ad limit policy?

I've been noticing how some people and companies are abusing the ad system. They are putting 5 or more ads in videos. I don't mind two ads in a video especially if its a long video. However, I just came across a 24 minute video with 7 ads. That's almost 3.5 minutes between ads. Heck 7 ads is a lot for any video on YouTube.

Its cool to make money on YouTube, but don't be so greedy. This many ads turn people away from videos and nobody wins when this happen.

Never heard about that happening. No more than 2-3, but thats rare to see that. Ad limit sounds good though. Like a balence including pre roll. Like if you have preroll than minus 1 in video.

Nope, they should treat it like the free market. If people thinks it takes away from the content they should subscribe to someone else and stop watching the videos with toooooo many adds. But that's just me

Google can't treat it like a free market. This isn't the same as a global economy. Google owns YouTube and the adsense program. Google makes money from our content. If a group of people are putting tons of ads in videos then Google will lose money.

Part of the reason some content creators are having to do it is because there's been a massive reduction in monetised views. I'm not talking about this quarter and ads. I mean there are people getting like 1mil+ views and only a couple thousand are monetised views. This is because adBlock is becoming more popular. The greedy 1s are the 1s who watch the content they're subscribed to with adBlock on. 1 of the guys from Yogscast recently pointed this out too. But I do agree, 7 ads is a bit too for a 24min video, especially if they're video ads. But I don't really blame content creators for trying to find more and better ways to create videos since things are just getting harder and adBlock is become more popular. Some people don't seem to realise that some have dedicted themselves to YouTube and it's their livelyhood. I'll try and find the guys statistics, he posted them, was Martyn I think.

Found it here: https://twitter.com/InTheLittleWood/status/439734616996728832 "1.5mil views were monetized properly our of 4-5 million views."

Google can always create a similar or better system than Hulu's system. Hulu has an anti-ad-blocker system. If you're using an ad-blocker then you must wait longer to watch the video.
