Several channels or unrelated content?

I've Got It
So I've got lots of ideas for videos that aren't necessarily at all related to each other. I was just wondering if anyone knows whether it's better to upload lots of content of a random nature to one channel; or if I should make several channels and have each one be for a specific genre of videos e.g. Separate gaming, comedy and movie channels?

I prefer to keep my videos all on the one channel for now, it's difficult enough to get people to watch one channel, let alone any others! It's personal preference really, I know there's people on here who believe the same and there's other people who highly recommend having more than one as videos of different genres might confuse subscribers. I can see both sides, do whatever feels right.

I have 2 YouTube channels. One is for my show which is my main content the other is for random videos of me when I'm not acting and I post whatever I want on there! Opinions , if I go to a special event I upload footage on that channel etc.

I'd recommend having different channels for the different things you wanna do. Mainly because it may confuse viewers. For example let's just say you uploaded a game video and your subscribers then noticed you uploaded a new video but it's something completely different. It will confuse viewers and people will probably unsubscribe.

Good luck!!!

Mostly best to do multiple channels vs a solo channel. If you are able to find two genres that work together then it wouldn't cause a problem. A gaming channel could work with a Anime review show. But say a gaming channel and a DIY show wouldn't generally find the same crowd. The problem really stems at the audience, if you place shows up that they've no interest in they are less likely to come back regularly because it doesn't fit them. But finding that right mix can be a problem I would think.

Honestly I think it depends on how far apart the videos are in genre terms.
Also depends on how far you are into YouTube. What I mean by that is if you've just started it's probably best not to split up the limited fan base straight away xD

I don't have a lot of experience, but I currently have a gaming channel and planning on creating an additional channel in the future for all the stuff I build in my workshop.
I don't feel like gaming and gaming related stuff fit well with armouring and furniture making ^^

One could always promote the other channel though, like "don't forget to check out my other channel X about Y".
