As someone who also doesn't have great quality I think I understand the troubles!
Using natural light is great if you have it, I'd suggest having light behind the camera for the best shot. I know lots of YouTubers like using plain backgrounds so white walls if you have them though its not a priority.
Other than that I'm saving up for a new camera which is what I'd say is most important. I know if I'm watching a poor quality video it can be difficult to look past that.
