You could try debut video capture from nch software there is a free version and the paid version is reasonably priced.

But to be honest I would spend the bit extra and buy either an avermedia LGP or avermedia extremecap u3 capture device, you will get much higher quality videos with no lag and no max recording time.

Completely wrong. Its the PC that can't keep up. If your so called "gaming I7 PC" still has "destroyed FPS" when using fraps, then your pc still can't keep up. FRAPS is like any other recording software, although not the best, but it doesn't destroy fps. Please do more research before stating false information.

Fraps does not "destory" FPS, you just need to actually have a good PC to actually play and record games. If you dont then every single screen capture software will kill your FPS. I am going to guess you dont have a powerful PC, thats why you are using an external device to capture? But if you have a good PC then playing a game and recording is easy as pie.

Agree 100% The only reason of having fps drops while recording is because the pc is struggling.

But you record your commentary on a seperate file so game audio has no effect since both game audio and commentary can be edited afterwards. Even then, you lower the volume on your PC anyways lol If you can't record commentary with the capture software you can just use Audacity.

Thanks, I tried showplay it was pretty good until my entire computer slowed down after i was done using it. The footage had good fps and took up little space. It's not for me but it is a pretty good program
