Screen capture recording software?

Title above, I just want something that records the screen for a video that is upcoming on my channel, I have permission from a youtuber to record his video that i will be using, but cant think for the life of me what sort of software i can use.

Please help! Thanks!
 
if you have dedicated Nvidia graphics card use Shadowplay, otherwise can use something like BB FlashBack Pro 4 Recorder.

I use OBS (Open Broadcast Software) says its for live streaming but can set it to just record, easy to use, LEGALLY free, what more can you ask for :)
 
I use CAMTASIA. It's actually brilliant, it's an all in one video editing and screen recording software. You can record, hit "end recording" and then it will load up Camtasia Studio with your footage, desktop audio, microphone audio & webcam footage all on seperate layers to edit! You can get a 30 day free trial which is probably more beneficial to you than spending money on it!

For some reason it wont let me download cam tasia. (obscure reason i cannot describe)[DOUBLEPOST=1417789182,1417788864][/DOUBLEPOST]

I cant get OBS to actually record a certain part of my screen though which sucks :(

On OBS if you start a Monitor Capture as your source, then click preview stream, then edit scene, you can hold the ALT key while dragging in the sides so it would only record say a video in the center of the screen or something like that. I just tested it to make sure but im not 100% if thats what you mean :)
