Review My New Tech Video

Hello everyone. I started posting on this channel the first of the year and have posted once on the first of the month. I currently have 3 videos up and have been getting feedback in the comments a bit, but not as much as I would like. If you guys could take a few minutes and watch my newest video and tell me what I can do to improve, that would be amazing.

Things to not before leaving feedback:
  • I am getting a new camera (possibly the T5i or D3300) I am currently using a webcam for the videos. They do the job, but I would love to step it up a bit to take it more professionally. I have to work with what I've got because I am really poor lol
  • I am getting a lavalier mic very soon. If you guys could recommend me a decent one that isn't very expensive (less than $100-$150) that would also be great.
Now that we have that out of the way, here is the video:

The audio and video quality isn't bad at all. My only change would be to just toss out the pixel transitions and just do jump cuts. It would flow a little better. If you want any suggestions on some pretty good cameras or mic's, I recently upgraded and can recommend a camera or mic.

Thanks for the feedback! I will take your thoughts on the transitions. I thought they would look a little better than just random jump cuts. I am trying to get more b-roll so I can just overlay it through most of the cuts and they will never notice. Also, I would love to hear what camera and mics you recommend.

Can't check out your video right now, but as for a lav mic, I personally have the Rode Smartlav+. It's less than 100 and is really great quality. There are lots of YouTube reviews on it, and I use it in my videos as well.

Edit: my girlfriend just got a condenser mic for around 100 and I would actually prefer that assuming you'll remain in one spot and not walking around. The quality is much better.

Yeah, I saw the Rode mic. What is the condenser mic you were talking about?

For cameras, I roll with a Vixia HF R50 that I got from the online usa canon website. Got it refurbished for 100 bucks and has been awesome so far. For a mic, I'm rolling with a innogear condenser mic. It can be a bit quiet in some editing programs but if you know how to use audacity, you can get it much louder pretty easily. If I had to chose one or the other, I'd pick the camera first. The mic, you can get a darn good condenser mic for at least 30 bucks like the one I got.

Yeah I will look into that. Might just be looking to upgrade the camera now for better lighting and color corrections.
