Release Forms For Filming In Public.

Does anyone know the legalities surrounding this when shooting in a public place? Its obviously different for every country, in this case I'm wondering about Australia.

You need release forms from everybody on camera, you can get around it by bluring their faces though
 
Anyone who is classed as a 'talent', E.g. you've asked them to perform/talk to the camera you need to get a release form for. People in the background just walking around you don't need to worry about them. Although I suggest putting signs up in the area says something like

"If you walk past this point you will be in the background of footage, which will be posted online"

That's the sort of thing we did at college to make sure everyone understood. We also took pictures of the signs up just to keep that as proof that we actually put those signs up.
 
Thanks guys! For my 'Talking nonsense in public' prank I just asked them if its alright to use the footage and recorded there reply. Was hoping that would be enough, I may get them to sign a release form next time just in case

Filming that can be good for pranks because you can put that at the end of the video with a thanks message over the top just so viewers know they where cool with it :)
