I can see this post has ruffled a few feathers ... I didn’t mean to offend any gamers out there but I was just stating how hard it is to be unique is an area that has so much content.

I actually are not doing too bad as a gamer 2500 subs, gaining over 100 a week .. Between 30 - 40k views a month .. Like I said I’m just stating the current situation on YouTube

Title says it all. Do you guys think that it is near impossible to make it as a gaming YouTuber? I mean so many people do YouTube now and lots of people make the same sort of thing. I find it very hard to find something unique to do. So I have thought many times to switch from gaming to another area on YouTube.

What is your opinion on this matter?

Part of me wants to agree with what you've said here, but the truth is it's hard to make it on youtube in any way. I had a gaming channel and finding games and things to record that hadn't already been done is well... impossible. The biggest gamers especially pewdiepie have covered probably every single game so you have to go with games they've played. I resorted to getting a group of friends together and making funny moments videos on GTA which were quite a hit, but growing a gaming channel can be really aided to twitch streaming, I started streaming when I uploaded on that channel and I suddenly started getting a lot more subscribers.

Since then I stopped using that channel and I have a vlogging channel, but the difficulties are the same of not being able to find much content that no one has done. The best bet is just to keep making what you enjoy and you will keep growing with subscribers who also enjoy your content :)

Ive noticed since ive been livestreaming I'm getting a lot more views and traffic towards my channel.

I was just browsing through Youtube and it´s shocking the amount of gaming channels that exist. For every 10 channels i randomly looked up, around 6-7 were gaming channels. It´s just crazy.
