recommend a camera

Dog Crazy
Hey :)
So I was thinking of upgrading from my Olympus sp-720UZ
To a canon eos 600D
I'll be mainly using it for sit down videos and also for some photography

Should I stick with my choice or do you think a certain camera may be better?

I love the effect of blurring the background of a video by the way
Any lens recommendations are also welcome :)

Probably the biggest thing to consider when going to a DSLR is the lenses. You should look into lenses before you go DSLR (as you said). It is a very versatile camera (I use it myself for film-making) and quite usually you will get a 15-35mm with a standard purchase.
This is a good standard lens but not good for dark lighting. While the 50mm is beautiful and you can fully bring out the f-stop so you can get some pretty good lighting for dark situations without getting the grainy image that you get when increasing the ISO. But you can't zoom on it and has a very thin focus point.
If you are getting a 600d, get a 50mm. Its awesome :-D

Why not skip the 600D and go straight for the 650D, it's slightly better and hardly costs much more.

I've got the canon 600D, love it :)

I've used The 600D with a 15-50mm lens in my last few videos, combined with a remote shutter release and some softbox lights. I have to say although nobody is watching my videos, I'm happy with the investment, and the video quality they're producing.

Well I've got the softbox :)

Think I'll get the 600D for sure :)
Thanks guys
