Reaction Videos? Good idea/ bad idea

Youtubers have been sued lately for less (like H3 reviews which were even more protected). To be safe you should absolutely get permission in writing, then you have legal proof of what you deed was in agreement. But alas this is only a suggestion, you are free to try to do a react but just be warned if that gets copyright strikes/banned it will impact your primary channel as well.

question though what about game capturing surely that is copyright from the developers? Do you need permission from them? Loads of people upload games I'm guessing without such permission x

The people saying it's fine are the ones who haven't made it big and never spoke to a copyright lawyer, and so they are just parroting the same misinformation from other reacts and are fortunate enough to not have gotten sued yet. I own a large channel and have asked my lawyer about it before. Putting the fair use dialogue in your description is in fact admission of guilt if you get sued for using the footage after a dmca (straight form a copyright lawyer).

It doesn't matter if you react for the whole video or 5 seconds, it's all a manner of if those videos have content id on them or if the content you're reacting to creators find it and then take it down or sue you. In terms of copyright your reaction channel is infringing when it comes down to it. Trying to leech of popular content to funnel views into your own original channel is not a great idea, it would be far better for you to focus on just your original content and become known for that instead of a react thing which will eventually end with copyright strikes (unless you make sure you get permission from every single video you react to, that's how channels like finebros are still alive, because despite their shittiness they know the law can slap them hard and they pay the video creators for rights to use the footage for their reacts).[DOUBLEPOST=1466159245,1466158831][/DOUBLEPOST]Furthermore, your boob censored thumbnail icon is considered pornographic click bait and is grounds for video community guidelines trike, you need to change that asap.

Games have blanket policies of whether they allow video monetizion for letsplays or not, in that regard they are a lot more copyright friendly (like valve allows all of their game work to be monezied in any video), where as nintendo doesn't unless you sign up with them. There a lot of letsplays lists about what developers are friendly in that regard.

I'd prefer to not say what channel i own, but as you can see with that verified thing under my name i have one. You can react to your own content or any content you get permission for, or focus on your own work like you have been. Also i said it in an edit, but you need to get rid of that boop censored thumbnail, that video is grounds for a community guideline strike as its sex clickbait.

lol oh well hey thanks for checking out my channel, but if you read the video description which i assume you didnt, i mention that i use that thumbnail because it reflects from my troll skit video in which i had recover from back in 2011) i dont orginally post click bait thumbnails but for that skit in general i did.

I also got in touch with an expert about thumbnails and asked if thats ok to use and they said Yes as long as no Nipples are being shown and as you can see there is no Nip Slips.

There are no nipples, but the focus on the image is directly tits with tiny troll stickers on top, and i have seen people banned for such thumbnails. I looked at leafies thubmnails, none of them have that kind of zoomed in slightly censored joke tits as a thumbnail and talking about pewdiiepie is pointless as he is a protected class youtuber. I'm not trying to scare you, just saying that it can come back and bite you in the a** and i know for a fact that thubmnail is not okay. Youtube does not like anything sexual focused like that.

Simply because that is still up doesn't mean it's not breaking youtubes rules, merely not enough people have reported it yet for a trigger on analysis. I am stating youtubes rules here, not attacking you for the thumbnail. It can come back and bite you in the a** at any moment if someone does report it enough, and undoing a community guideline strike can be a total s**t show and the impact is as bad a community guideline strike which makes you lose a ton of features. If you are serious about making it on youtube you should pay attention and know the rules of conduct and focus on your content. If you're getting hung up over this suggestion and have the mind set "well he's doing it and he's not banned, i'm fine" you'll never make it big.

i am not going to let this guy scare me because he claims he has a large youtube channel

Not saying i want to do what jinx does and just sit their and have no reaction....
but i was thinking about starting a reaction series on my channel and wanted to get everyone's opinion on that.

I know a lot of YouTubers hate that because people react on viral videos and as they call it rip off of other youtubers video who put the work into their videos, but at this point i just feel that's the only way to put yourself out their these days, either that or by getting a shout out / interview from a larger youtuber.

plus i do see a lot of reaction channels out their that actually don't get dislikes as much as probably they should and aren't as bad as some.

my questions however is.... i thought its consider copyright to place someone else's video onto your video?
is it now allowed and ok to place someones else video over yours to react to within the video these days?
since a lot of people are doing that and not getting their videos removed from youtube i wanted to ask

any inputs much appreciated and please don't hate me for asking this, its just an idea and i'm simply am just seeking out for some inputs. =)

Take every one in this thread and take one video and do that. It would be a cool idea but make sure it's just us all your friends from here!
