Questions regarding Microphones

So basically i want to get a microphone for the videos now and have a budget of upto 50 dollars. I was wondering what to buy, and then came across this problem when i saw that some connect via a micro USB and some require a soundboard. I would like to know about a microphone which could be connected or used with my video camera and be used with the computer without the soundboard. Im sorry if this is basic and i do not understand since i have no knowledge on the subject.

You would need a microphone that uses a 3.5mm jack (mini jack), a lot of RODE microphones use these as some of them are made to fit on top of cameras. (depending on which camera you have).

I have a Sony Cybershot ( DSC-WX50 ) . Im basically using what i have but i could borrow my friends DSLR. So considering that should i just get a USB mic and edit in post production since it doesnt have an audio input . Thanks again.
