I feel down sometimes about my low subscribers and likes but when I go out to meet up with my friends in town or my local pub they tell me how much they like my videos and they "quote" from them, call me bonkers and have a good laugh about it. My friends push me on and I'll keep making new videos until they want me to stop I guess.
If it makes them happy, it makes me happy and I enjoy watching myself on video anyway. So must continue lol

I agree with the OP. I've learned that you will hardly NEVER blow up immediately once you start. You slowly grow the fanbase who will, once it gets large enough, take care of growing itself.

I make work on my channel, because it is fun to me. Maybe one day it will become a good chunk bigger, but if not its ok with me. I do like trying to improve my channel, and its exciting when more and more people subscribe.

Yayayay, always so nice to meet other Whovians! I actually had Kate Nash perform Rose's goodbye from "Doomsday" during my interview with her, such is my love for all things Who.On topic though, great post! It's definitely true that if you get too caught up with trying to make that "YouTube money" or being "YouTube famous", you only stress yourself out by putting high expectations on yourself.
