Popups Mid-Video

Shadeypwns

Laugh at your problems, everybody else does.
I have a question for you guys/girls. Do you use annotations, or text popups in the middle of your videos? I make about 20 minute videos, and first off, I have my preset annotations setup to show my logo in the top right of all videos, through the entire thing. I haven't received any complaints yet so I don't think that's a big deal.

However I've also messed around with doing some banner/text type overlays in Photoshop. At around 1/3 through the video and 2/3 through the video, these banners slide up from the bottom of the screen, and say things like "Don't forget to leave your comments and feedback!" or "Like/Dislike the video, and let me know what you think!".

What do you guys think? Annoying? Smart?

I'm not really sure if that will be too much or not. I usually just ask for a thumbs up and for requests at the end of a video, then thank my audience for watching with a reminder to subscribe. Sometimes I will add a graphic or an annotation if it doesn't seem like too much. I also put a subscribe annotation in 11pt font at the top left of all of my videos that runs the length of the video. That way it's not popping up at random times. It's just there the whole time out of the way, but easily seen.

Definitely annoying. If your presentations are good, they will subscribe and such.
If you annoy people, i would think that you would trigger them to give you a thumbs dow.

i hve to say smart for this one becuse some people just watch a good video and leave it without likung it to help the person who made it. So a small little reminder wont hurt them but just dont place direct middle of the screen Lol

If its nothing to overbearing i dont think that people will see it as annoying i would understand if it was a constraint to watching the video.

Thanks for the feedback guys, seems to be mixed opinions about it, which is pretty much what I was expecting.
