To be fair, I don't really think that there's really a "set formula," sure there are common practices that are good to follow to grow a channel. But instant success is full of variables. Who found your channel? How many found it? Did they find just a particular video? Did they share it? Etc.

One thing that's definitely a must is to be consistent, interactive, and to produce quality content. There are many other things I'm sure people will share here that are beneficial for channel growth and popularity. But ultimately, I think it also nails down to passion. That's just my opinion though.

You could make the worst videos in the world, if people know you will upload a new horrible video on a set schedule, they will look you up when they need something really bad! lol Human Mortals are creatures of habit.
