hey guys im having trouble getting a decent thumbnail for my videos... anyone know how to customize them???? all help would be appreciated
 
Use photoshop or GIMP and learn the software.
After that, try to make your own thumbnails.

If you dont have custom thumbnails, you need to activate monetization your channel.

Use photoshop. If you want a constant and fullscreen sized thumbnail (no black bars at the sides), make sure the size of your picture is 1920 x 1800. Use Ctrl + T to make it smaller. Also, use text that'll be easy for your viewers to see. :) Hope this helped!
