pewdiepie is now number 1 most subbed, thoughts?

i think its kinda crazy that a person who plays a video game and talks about it is the number 1 most subbed channel, and feel smosh deserves it more, BUT i do understand pewdiepie does put in a good amount of time into his stuff, and uploaded at least once a day which i respect... thoughts?!?! this is some big youtube news!!
 
I like Pewdiepie, he's funny. But even if I didn't like him, I agree that he deserves respects because it's not everyday you become the most subscribed youtuber.
 
there was a video that actually explains how he was getting so many views, he actually kind of has an advantage over most youtuber's
 
It's really just about what people like. If people liked other channels more, then that would be the most subscribed channel. So I think he deserves it because people subscribed. Simple as that.
 
I am not a big fan of PewDiePie's videos, but he does deserve it. He puts tons of time into his videos. Although Smosh has higher production value videos, PewDiePie uploads daily, and his videos take a lot of work. He probally plays games like Happy Wheels for a couple hours to make his 10 minute montage of his funny moments. I do like seeing someone like this hit #1 though, because it gives me more hope. PewdiePie started his channel in like 2011, and he is one of the first people to rise above the OG YouTubers like RWJ, Smosh, ShaneDawson, and Nigahiga.
