One good thing with pewdiepie being from Sweden and having his company, pewdie productions, registered there is that all numbers are public. According to several articles in Swedish newspapers (google "This is why Pewdiepie is number one in the world") his company had a total revenue before taxes in 2013 of 27 million Swedish kronor (4.1 million dollars). This includes all revenue from YouTube/sponsors/tshirts/etc.
That's up from 1.2 million dollars for the last 6 months of 2012 (doubling the rev. year to year). Still ways to go to the highest paid tv-stars (earning 10-30 million according to forbes), but 4 million is still pretty decent for a 24 year old recording himself playing video games. Plus, if Felix did more sponsor deals/commercials/etc he could probably top 10 million in a year or two. And he really doesn't have any expenses other than wifi an computer gear. I'd say 99% is profit, but the full annual report should be available within a month or so (probably get a breakdown of revenue to compare with socialblade and others).
What do you guys think? Inspiring? Crazy? Daunting? Myself I just think it is cool as hell and very inspiring as YouTube grows.
