Sweet Tooth Outlaws

I Love YTtalk
Is there any YouTubers that are signed up with Patreon? If so how exactly does it work, and how has it worked for you? I'm thinking about possibly setting up an account with Patreon but was wondering if any one else uses Patreon.

What are the pro's and con's?

I have set up an account but will only launch it in a month (waiting for 50,000 subscribers). I really love the concept, and of course there are success stories. The pros are countless and I can't really think of a downside - maybe it's that they take a little cut but honestly it is pretty standard since we're talking about a business. :)

Do you have to have a certain number of subscribers to be able to set up an account? As of right now I have 13 but I want to keep to growing the channel.

I have never used it but a few channels I follow do and they speak highly of it, the only down side I can see is that they take a minimal cut.

No, you don't, there are no requirements. :) Check out the video "What is Patreon" on YouTube (can't post links).

I have a Patreon, had it since April and it's worked really well for me so far.

The only downside really is the fact that your patrons will go up and down, but that's just dependent on their lives and how much they are willing to give at a time.

The pros are definitely great though since the people that are willing to support are the ones that really like what you're doing, so there's more of a connection with your audience on patreon.

Thank you, this really is helpful!

Honestly, I wouldn't bother about setting up an account until I had at least 1k subs...probably even more.

Not to rain on your parade, but do you really think your 14 subs will pay to support you? Gather a following first, otherwise it just looks like a money grab.
