Patreon Question

My channel is just an extension of the bigger thing that I'm doing, so it might not apply you you buuuut...
My advice for you is to make the Patreon, post the link to it in the description of every future video. Make sure it is visible but not too conspicuous - as in, not the first thing people see. Also, make sure you don't actually mention it in the videos until you've grown some, as it might be perceived as begging.
From personal experience, your friends are the last people who will be your patrons. :)

I honestly believe if you have a 'following', and by that I mean FANS, people that REGULARLY watch your channel, comment, like, converse with you on social media ect, even if it's only a few people you can start a patreon, for some people this happens at 100 subs, for some people it happens at 5k, it all depends on what content you're making... you know your audience, you know your 'fanbase', if you think people honestly care about you and your content and want to see you succeed and what to help you do it then yeah, Patreon is definitely an option!
I have a patreon set up already (even though I only have 500+ subscribers and no 'fans') just so I have it ready when I want it! it was actually a lot of fun to make and sort out all the graphics for!!

I think it's probably too early but you also don't need 100k subs to get a good system going either, you just need an audience that really connects with you and your vision on YouTube. I've seen people build patreons in different ways, some people provide value to encourage subscriptions and some do it more like Loki Doki's style with less of that and more of the personal connection.

Personally when I start mine I'm probably aiming for something in the middle, I don't want it to feel like I'm cheating my YouTube subs out of the best content but some small incentive may help in my opinion.

I agree with you. I have over 3k subs close to 4K and I personally think it’s too early. I had some subscribers ask me to set up a go fund me and they will help out with equipment, I said no I couldn’t do that I personally would feel bad for taking someones money.

why would you feel bad? your not begging for money, you are letting people support you for giving them hours of entertainment

It’s not begging because you provide a service. I say open it as ALL big and serious channels do it and the goal is to be that anyway right? So whenever you get big it’s already set up

I don`t think so you can get anything from these 120 subscribers. You will need a lot more, and you will need to give them a good reason to donate, for example, to turn off ads on your videos or something similar. Maybe some exclusive movie reviews they will get before all other viewers. Some premium service you will need to offer them :)

patreon would do little to nothing for your channel the only thing i recommend to you since you're a movie channel is that you should just affiliate market find some affiliate sites you can partner with ebay, amazon or whatever than review movies than place the affiliate link to the movie you reviewed if they buy it you get 10 percent !! affiliate marketing is your best friend as a small youtuber!!

Hey, I average about 100 views per video so that means pretty much all my subs are watching. I do a lot of social media so I probably have a more engaged audience than most.

I have a graphic design business so most of my income comes from that, but it would be good to get some extra income off of my youtube channel somehow.
How is that graphic designer business ? I’m trying to plan mine and further my portfolio, do you have a website?
