Ads currently provided the funding for most of the content on YouTube.
Obviously they are looking to generate more/other revenue. This may just be expanded content or it may be eventually for all content. Assuming this is inevitable, what model works the best for you.

I personally would be willing to pay to get rid of ads, as long as a portion of that money went to the content creators that I watched, and assuming I wasn't a creator.
At this time I don't think that most of my subscribers would pay for my content either.

Let me know your thoughts. This isn't a "flame YouTube for their choices" thread. We all like free, but ads can't cover every YouTuber's salary. Especially with how many there are now. So let's just look at the options.

The pay to remove ads isn't an unreasonable type of request. I mean the ads on YouTube aren't THAT invasive or time consuming to have to watch really.

I wouldn't pay to be subscribed to a channel, though. Especially not if it was a channel I'd been subbed to for free beforehand.

I'd definitely never pay for content on Youtube, or ever try to sell my content on Youtube. I'll pay for no advertisements though, but it has to benefit the channels. Maybe the amount I pay can be evenly distributed between which videos I watch.

Honestly I think that all these options should be included, as everyone watches YouTube differently... let the user decide how he/she wants to pay and what for ^_^

I guess I need more information.. Like are they going to start airing Movies like NetFlix does or something. Not sure what they would be charging for.

Pay to remove ads are never going to happen.... an average person on YouTube watches 1000 videos (or at least 20 seconds at the start of each one) every month, so that`s on average 8$ a month you`d have to pay....
