Odd View Counting

I Love YTtalk
Anyone else annoyed by the fact that views of your own videos count towards their view counts? And will YouTube seriously let people f5 their way to 300 views???? I'm not interested in the slightest in trying that. I actually hate the fact that even one of my views is counted. I guess I could understand the first view being added, but seriously.... All of them!?

Sorry Just a tiny bit confused are you annoyed that the creators of a video can watch there own video 300 times by pressing F5 ?

I did not think watching your own video counted. I watch every video once on my PC to make sure it plays ok all the way through but view count does not go up. If someone just sits there pressing F5 there retention would suck

No, I'm annoyed that the views count at all. I read online in another forum that you can actually boost your count right up to 300 by refreshing. After that they get deleted when the second counting system kicks in. If that's the case, then it's kinda funny that the secondary system will delete the views that put you in the secondary counting system in the first place.

But if they get removed whats the point in doing it in the first place ? just to get to 301+ i think the owner of the videos IP should not count views then maybe.

Exactly. With all that in mind, YouTube should not be counting multiple views from one user. You'd think something would be put in place to stop use from beefing up our own view counts. I just added 2 more to my latest video as a test. It might stop before 300, but I'm avoiding all of my own videos like the plague just so that my views are actual views from someone else.

Well i am not sure on your line "YouTube should not be counting multiple views from one user" sometimes depending on what your video is about a rewatch/rewind may be required.

Maybe the owners views should just not count but i personally don't car if it hits 301 or not 1000+ Cool 10000 Even cooler
