Obsessing over numbers.

The Asian dude
Yeah, this has been bothering me a lot recently, especially after I started spending a lot of time on these forums.

I see many many people say stuff like:
"Plz subscribe to me"
"How do I get more subscribers"
"how to grow my channel"
"People unsubbed"
"Hey guys I do _______ plz like sub bye" <----- (Btw this pisses me off a lot)
"I'M GOING TO BURN SOMEONE IF I DON'T GET ANY MORE DAMN SUBSCRIBERS"
and I see people like these who want to give up on youtube. They don't see the point in youtube if they're not growing. They can't bear to see 1 person unsubscribe from their channel without wanting to quit forever.

DUDEEEEEE calm the f**k down! Youtube isn't about the goddamn numbers! I see sooo many people do this and say this. Youtube is for fun. Yeah, it is awesome if people watch your vids, like, subscribe, etc. but that shouldn't be your priority on youtube! Your priority should be having fun! It's not the end of the world if you get unsubscribers or dislikes!
I was once like this too: obsessing over the numbers to the point where it actually affected my mood. If I lost a subscriber, I would be extremely...depressed, I should say. Obsessing over the numbers is what made me use sub4sub websites to get to 100 subscribers on an older channel (Which, btw, is I think against the TOS of youtube). It's what made me spam and p**s people off. blah blah blah <- insert more boring s**t there
If you want your numbers to grow, work on your content and make it the best you can (THIS IS ESPECIALLY FOR SMALLER CHANNELS WONDERING WHY THE f**k THEY AREN'T GROWING)! Because if you promote bad content, people won't subscribe to you! You can't promote bad (no offence to anyone) content and expect your channel to hit 20 million subscribers over night. Make it good! WORK ON DAT QUALITYYYYY AND NOT DA NUMBEERRRRRRRS
Guys n girls, youtube is for fun. If you're not having fun with it, and you're getting upset/sad over it, maybe it isn't for you. Or maybe you should take a break.
Just....stop obsessing over the numbers.

Also for small channels just calm down and be patience when joining networks. (Or else you will start worrying about numbers due to money and blah blah blah) I use to have that mentality of worrying for so many years, but now days I take that energy of worrying and work on what needs improving

Oh yeah, forgot about the network thingy too. EVERYONECALMDOWNABOUTNETWORKSYOUWONTMAKEMONEYIFYOUREASMALLCHANNELANYWAYSSSSSS

I agree. The question shouldn't be "how do I get more subs?", it's "how do I make better content?". People think the answer is going to be some magical site or title change, or tagword, but it isn't. It's improving your content and staying consistent with uploads.

#word. No but really, I agree. I hate that everyone is so obsessed with numbers. I even sometimes see bigger youtubers actaully say that they do it for the money and not the subs (that makes me kind of sad tbh). The whole point is to have fun. If you are not having fun you should just take a break.

That's true...but then again, there are rules to read (like not promoting in wrong sections XD)
For like, the past month, it seems like almost all of the introduction threads have had advertisements in them. It's driving me insane. It's not that hard to read the rules, right? Or... Am I missing something?

(hai check otu my channelz kthnkxbye)
