New YouTube Layout: Your Thoughts?

I don't know if there is a thread post about this topic. If there is, please forgive me. I did not know, I'm brand new to this site.

MY PERSONAL OPINION: I don't think the new layout looks so bad. I think it looks pretty good. But, I do understand what people are saying when they are concerned about the fate of their video and graphic content.

The Petition to stop the new layout????? I thought that was pretty extreme. People need to learn how to embrace change. Think of it this way: Would you want to wear the same outfit, or make one repetitive action for the rest of your life? eventually you would want to try something different, or wear a different everyday.

Overall, I think it looks good and I would embrace the change. How about you? what do you think about the new YouTube layout coming soon?

The two major problems with the new design are that it is very cluttered, and the only space for your creativity is a relatively small banner.

Other issues people don't like are the fact that there is almost no customisation, and larger channels are promoted right there on your channel. We don't get to choose who gets promoted.

Another problem is that the "about user" information is not on the first page, but on another page that requires you to click on a tiny tab to get to it.

It's not a great design. It looks horrible.

i all up for change and the layout has really good features to it like the video that only non-subscribers can view so thay know what the channel is about. the idea is it takes away the backgrounds and replace them with a banner and makes the majority of the page white. is it uniformed yes but since its uniformed it is not as intriguing. it does put a heaver emphasis on your content then in a way. to some people the diffrent backgrounds is what set one channel apart from the other in a big way. i personally dont mind it but i will have to make a banner when it comes out but we will soon forget about it and move on from this.

I personally do not see anything wrong with it. The layout is simple and easy to use, its modern, and people who complain about how videos are and etc, well google is wanting to make youtube more profitable it is a business. One more thing It will actually allow views for channels that actually have an audience to continue to earn more so therefore google will earn more. People just need to shut the hell up and stop complaining especially when your able to upload videos for free.

The only thing I don't like is the removal of backgrounds. But I don't think it will be that bad.

One more thing It will actually allow views for channels that actually have an audience to continue to earn more so therefore google will earn more. Remember that it is the user who created YT in the first place. It is the user that keeps them in business. I agree that we should increase the quality of content and make things better. I am working with several people right now to completely revamp my channel and its content. All of my current stuff will be going away to be replaced with an entirely different type of content.

Yes, it is free to upload, but it is not free to put your time and effort into buying equipment such as cameras, lights, backdrops, greenscreens, editing software, microphones, etc. in the hopes of getting partnership and maybe even making some money.

The majority of users simply want to have googletube listen to the user. If you make the user happy, production increases. Just like any business, you don't increase income by ******* off the people who make your company possible.

I don't see it as a rude response. Everyone keeps complaining about it and they need to realize that the layout is going to change and complaining is not going to do anything about it. It's getting very old seeing people post how much they hate the new layout, and wanting people to sign the petition. So yes, I agree that people should just shut the hell up about it.

I agree that people should adjust and that complaining will do nothing. However, we do have a right to free speech, and people have a right to complain when they are the ones making the website possible.

I'm not here to debate the issue, I'm just saying that "shut the hell up" is not a positive response. Rather, we should encourage those who are complaining to find a way to take advantage of the change.

Yeah, you do. Unfortunately, that will only make the complainers get that much louder. I would rather redirect their attention to doing something more positive that will stop the complaining.
