New Videos Getting 1,000+ Views On Their First Day Without Freezing ... How?

Hi all,

I've noticed a lot of new videos on youtube have a 1,000+ view count within hours of being uploaded, how is this possible without the usual 2 to 3 day 301 freeze wait?

I understand some channels have high authority + lots of subscribers which means they would naturally get a lot of views, but how are they skipping the 301 verification process?

Example, if you do a search for `Pranks' there's a couple of 1 day old videos on the first page that have 7k & 18k views .. how can 1 day old videos have that many views without freezing at 301? ... Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for any help.

My videos tend to reach the 301+ mark within an hour and then they get updated a couple of hours later, so it doesn't take 2-3 days for me either. Do your videos take that much time to update?

Me too, mine only stay at 301+ for a couple of hours.

The length of time a video stays at 301+ depends on 2 factors:

1)The amount of views / time frame the video is getting
2)The proportion of "invalid" views.

If a video is staying at 301+ for several days then it's either not getting a lot of views and/or a lot of its views aren't valid.

Ah, that makes sense.

My new vids are only getting 100 ish views per day, so that's probably why there's a 2 to 3 day freeze wait.

Thanks for the replies.

My videos never freeze at 301.

That's mainly because they never reach 301:(
