I'd like to start by saying that I am in no means an expert but this is just my honest opinion
First of all the background of the banner looks like an image that's waiting to fully load (really pixelated), I'm not sure if this is an intended effect but I'd recommend a blur instead because it's a bit easier on the eyes.
Secondly the name of the channel is quite small and the border around the cat is drawing away from your focusing point (the channel name).
I would recommend enlarging the size of the font & reducing the thickness of the decorative border (or have it border the whole banner and not just the text).
And eliminating the outline from the cat altogether and moving him / her to a different location, or simply change the colour of the outline.
If you do enlarge the font size you could possibly move the cat above the font and blur the edges to fade it into the background.
Finally the Twitter & Tumblr logo's need a border around them to stand out a bit more (easiest is a thin black one) and perhaps move them to the right closer to where
the links to the actual sites are on the banner.
And I'm not to sure if the camera is there to symbolise its a photography channel or if its an Instagram camera. I couldn't see an Instangram link with the others so
I'm assuming its the first one. If so maybe have a descriptive line underneath or near the channel name instead of a camera.
