Networks that are "topic/genre" specific

Do any of you know of networks that work specifically with certain types of creators. I am searching for one that focuses on DIY, Artists, craft, home improvement, etc.

I know that my channel is small but when I look at the other channels in my genre I notice that very few of them have "large" channels. I would really like to find a network that works with this type of content so that it would encourage working together among our channels. Also, it would focus on crafting and art related product deals.

Any idea of a network like that?

Not specifically, however it should be noted that most networks won't function as promotion for your channel, if that's what you're looking for.

Then I may have this all wrong, I am looking for a network that will encourage collab between its channels. Is this not the norm?

Most networks don't do this, and the ones that do are almost all for big channels. Polaris encourages it a lot for gaming channels, but it's not the primary function of a network.

Some networks may offer forums where you can contact other partners and possibly set up a collaboration. Though this is not always the case. :)

I am not aware of any network that will benefit you. You can reach out to any channel directly and ask if they want to collab. If that's all you want from a network, then there's no sense in you surrendering part of your revenue when you can do it yourself.

Ok, now I am really confused. I was under the impression that signing with a network would allow you to make more money because you are able to tap into their higher CPM and get a percentage of that instead of what I am getting with YouTube. Is that right? I would see that as a benefit.

Is that correct? I am so confused on this network thing. If you can raise the amount of the CPM your are paid off of and receive a large portion of that instead of 100% of a smaller CPM wouldn't that make sense?

I am sorry if I am stupid! I just really don't understand why so many people are dead set against networks and then some are dead set for them. Thanks for all your insight and trying to help me understand!

@Maymay

I do over 8 million views a month and I don't believe that Fullscreen is providing ANY ads on behalf of my channel.

CPM may not based on the network. It may be based on what the advertisers will pay to reach your audience who watch your videos. There are other factors as well but I am not in a position to talk with specific knowledge.

Now if a network does provide ads for your channel, then you might see higher CPM's. The problem is that you can't verify that they are actually doing so.

Even if you get higher CPM's, it is very unlikely that they will make up for the percentage of revenue that you surrender to the network.

You're not stupid, you're ignorant. You just don't know and to be honest, most of this information is not readily available. Advertisers, networks, and YouTube keep the secrets under wrap. I know quite a bit but I wouldn't say that I am all that knowledgeable either.

As for some people being so gung-ho for networks, many of them are recruiters or receive some type of benefit. Many of them do not have very popular channels. I am being polite and not trying to be condescending in any way. Some people like being part of a 'sorority'. Some people like the music that some networks have a license for you to use with your videos. Some people just don't care and like the 'badge of honor' of being under a network.

For me. I have no problem relinquishing some of my earnings in exchange for some kind of goods or services that a network would provide. I am coming up to the end of my year with Fullscreen. It was my first network experience. I will not be resigning. It has been a terrible experience filled with lies and deception. That being said, it doesn't taint my opinion on networks. It helps educate me to the fact that you really need to know what a network can provide and what they can't. What they say they can do and what they can't.

Judging by your content and what I know about networks, you're not a good fit. Maker has a 'family' vertical but I would wait until all of the changes take place with movie studios buying networks. In my opinion, Disney just paid $500 million for Maker Studios. Disney will need to make that money back. I doubt that they will be giving very favorable contracts to creators for awhile.

I am interested to see what happens with Maker, I wonder if they are still signing contracts anyway right now. Thanks for your input. So there really is no way to tell what Fullscreen is doing for you financailly? I understand that but wow, that makes it really tough to decide to not re sign. What if you find out they were really making your higher income. Can you go back?

One Fullscreen question, do they contact channels like all the smaller networks do? I have been contacted by many small networks but no one the size of Fullscreen or Maker. I have had friends mention recruiting me to Fullscreen because they are with them.
