Negative people...

yeah this use to be one of my biggest fears back when I first wanted to start my channel you just gotta be yourself and not give a *%$# what anyone else thinks about you because in the end its what makes you happy, good luck to you.

@Christiney92

I guess you have not taken into account, the effect, if you use your full name. What you have explained, that is what you can expect. If you can't take it than I suggest to change your channel name. Give yourself a different name, like authors do.

You're still young, I do not know if you are going to the university. You know which way I go, bullies.

If you care about what others think of you. Then this is not meant for you.
I only care about what my family members think of me - mostly because I want to make them feel proud of my endeavours :) if I got a comment from a random stranger I wouldn't careless :) my videos aren't going to be everyone's cup of tea. Thanks for the input though :)

First of all: That is how brothers are... unfortunately.
Secondly, my boyfriend thinks it is great what I do but doesn't care to help one bit. Also, whenever I pitch an idea to him he thinks (and says) it won't work. Every time. Conclusion: I don't pitch ideas to him anymore :p My dad (60 years old, no computer or internet) actually gives me the most solid advice on improving my videos when I show them to him, too bad I can't show him every time.

Ok, so that was my rant, now my advice :p Tell them you don't like them saying this, that it is something you love and that you want to do with your life. They have to respect that. Giving up because others don't believe in you is the worst thing you can do :)

Iv gotten this with my friends, I don't really talk to my family about it and they don't really mention it which is good in my opinion :P But yeah there have been times where you don't get the support you need and can sometimes even seem harsh at times. You have just take it on the chin for now and keep making them videos. Hey if they're watching it your still getting views :P Dont worry just keep your head held high.

Just to add to this, my wife HATES me doing YouTube! Thinks it is pathetic. And all I wanted to do was just do something for fun! The way I look at it, is that life is too short ... try it ... if it works out ... they are the ones who could look stupid. But do not REGRET doing it. You gotta try it ... otherwise 5 years later you may think to yourself..... wonder if my life would be different if I did try YouTube.
Just saying!

I've managed to keep it a secret from all of my family. Only a small channel, so not likely to find out unless my channel explodes. Which I doubt!

You shouldn't listen to them, if you feel this is something that you wanna do and make it a big part of your life in the future then your goal is to suceed.

You get the feeling occasionally but don't worry, it's just a temporary thing. With hard work and time investment, you'll get what you deserve. You have my full support, good luck and enjoy what you do!

Hi all.

After starting my YouTube channel I've been getting some negative comments from family/friends and it's been really getting me down. For example my older brother has been giving me the "you'll never *make it*" etc type comments - and it's just made me feel really angry and depressed inside - not because I believe him, because I seriously believe that if you put time and effort into something and DON'T give up you'll eventually get to where you want to be... I guess what is really upsetting me is the lack of support and belief.

Has anyone else had to deal with this? What do you suggest I do? How have you overcome it and made not bother you?

It really bothers me :(:(:(:(
Hello :)

When you are in a business the most important thing is to have thick skin and not letting others pull you down or their words reaching in to you I had friends and teachers telling me whole my live that I couldn't do this and I couldn't do that so my confident wasn't on my highest level either.

There is so many talented people in our world who don't follow their dreams for some reason but the most important thing is to believe in your self and follow your dreams because its that passion we have for something that is keeping our wheels spinning no matter what others say to us. There will always be some walls who tries to stop you but don't necessarily see them as an threat but rather as a challenge you have to figure out how to defeat.

There will always be negative people who tries to pull you down but the question is not how many times you get knocked down but how many times you get back up again.

Belive in your self and follow your dreams! :thumbsup2:
