I need help with Sony Vegas! For some reason it won't let me put .avi files in the editing timeline. Someone please comment on this thread or on the video itself if you have any fix ideas/suggestions. Thanks a bunch! ​

Try re-installing it. My camera puts it in mp4 so it accepts it. Do you need a codec?

Yea it says it can't accept .avi because it lacks the codec required or something like that. idk.... :/

Mine accepts AVI and MP3/4 try a fresh install and do a Custom Install and select the codec if it is listed.

You should just convert the avi files to something else problem will be solved

Most versions of Vegas can't accept .avi files as far as I am aware of

What version of sony vegas you're using ?
Vegas should works well with avi file...

Just use a free converter that doesn't give a watermark

I did have that problem when I first got it try a reinstall if that doesn't work just convert the files.
