I've Got It
I want my latest video which is the one about jailbreaking iOS 8 to be at the top of the search result of "iOS 8 Jailbreak" any suggestions? Here are my tags: (Jailbreak, iOS 8, Top 5 Reasons not to Jailbreak iOS 8, why you should not Jailbreak ios 8, iOS 8 Jailbreak, Jailbreak iOS 8, SciTechOutline,)

Thanks!

Be sure to use those keywords in your description as well. And title if you can!

Make them flow in a normal looking paragraph in your description. Otherwise you run the risk of the violating community guidelines!

Lmao "make them flow in a coherent paragraph" Just be like "In my newest video title Jailbreaking IOS 8 I will be discussing JailBreaking IOS 8 which is also the IOS 8 Jailbreak. You should not IOS 8 Jailbreak because to IOS 8 Jailbreak would but IOS 8 jailbreaking bad." no one will ever know you're just trying to repeat the keyword...

It's not just keywords that get you into the top results.

I just searched "iOS 8 Jailbreak" and the top result had 20k views. Gonna be hard to be at the top putting your hopes in just keywords.

well elaborate then man. What are the other factors involved? What are we missing in this thread? I am so ready for tangible and easy to understand SEO advice cause it usually just confuses me so if you've got some info I want it.

I didn't wanna get into it as I'm no expert, but I believe views, likes/dislikes, comments and watch time all influence the position you yield in search ranks. There are probably even more factors but as I said, I'm no expert.

Fair enough it just... it seemed like a response that merited some kind of explanation to me. You told him it wasn't just keywords that would get him there, then searched his criteria and found that his competition was at 20k views. Which to me seems low but then you act like that's high and kind of tell him that it will be hard to try and make it using JUST keywords.

So I expected some kind of really good like, explanation to why this will be so hard. I think maybe I'm beginning to realized that it's like.. is your main point just "If you think that's gonna be your ticket to success you're mistaken, it takes alot more than just that to win over youtube" etc? I think maybe that's the message you were trying to get across I'm missing... maybe.. I dunno.. ostrich.

You are the best buddy! Thanks!

Same here I only dabble in SEO. I don't think there is a silver bullet that gets you to the top, but here are a few things I do

First and foremost I'd use a keyword tool. Word Tracker and Ubersuggest are both free and can give you an idea of some related keywords for your tags.
Also use google and youtube search suggestions to see what keywords are popular related to your title. Just type your title in youtube or google search and see what drops down.
Secondary you should treat your description as a blog entry, really fill it up with everything related to your video. Fill your first two lines with rich high searched keywords then more onto descriptive stuff. Talk about how old your phone is, why your jail breaking, what are the benefits, etc
If your struggling to fill up that space, write out a transcript of your video. Usually that alone will contain lots of juicy related keywords that help your SEO
Your description should also continue web links to related websites
Make sure you have a custom thumbnail
If you have a blog your website, link and post your video there. As this will help create higher rankings

Like I said there isn't just one thing that effects yoru SEO, Engagement, high retention views, shares etc all effect where your video lands, so upload and share away
