Natural Channel Growth

Looking for tips and tricks on natural channel growth. I have hit a wall at around 165 subscribers and haven't had much growth lately, the "big get bigger, and the small stay small" is coming into play.

My channel is a mix of heavy equipment, and snowmobiling/mudding. Hard to find collaborations that don't have tens of thousands of subscribers, which they get no benefit from me.

It is true. If you ask someone you don't know personally or know for a long time, they probably won't care about you since they have nothing to gain and they probably don't want new competition as well.

A lot of colleagues at another youtube forum get offended when I say... that we are all technically competition and often vying for the same types of viewers. A viewer has a limited time to watch videos, will he watch you? watch your competition? watch a small guy? watch a big guy?

However, I think since you do category of videos that is less common, you might find people who might be eager to work with you who are in the same boat. Just harder to find, but if you did, I bet it would be a good partnership/collab.

Maybe you can try promoting your videos and networking at a snowboarding convention or something rather.

How are you currently promoting your vids?
Currently not promoting my video's at all. Except the auto posts from twitter/face book page. Which aren't very popular, big surprise eh? ha ha

Yes, that was my thoughts exactly, i do not know anyone in the you tube community that we would both be able to offer each other benefits.

And that is completely correct we are all competing for views on our videos, if people watch mine, they take away from others views.

The category i do is extremely hard to collaborate with as well. How could i possibly collaborate with someone? We can't really transport equipment across thousands of miles. Or we can't play video games together over the internet.

And promoting at the snowboarding/skiing conferences is out of the question, there is a common feud between us two groups. They accuse us snowmobiles for destroying the environment blah blah blah, there's always a few bad apples in each group. There's just more people that are on their rag in the ski/snowboard group.

If you want to get your videos higher on the search, there are some great posts on SEO in the articles and resources section of this site :)

Try to make better tags and descriptions. Look up how to do it on YouTube. That way, your videos will show up closer to the first page of a YouTube search.
